Day 9 of 21: IF Seed

Did a little bit of sketching today, but I wasn't really in the mood... too tired I think. Anyway, here is my 15 minute sketch, please an extra I did yesterday. The bottom drawing came as a result of wanting to try my hand at doing a illustration that my be used in a textbook or instructional article. I consider it a bit more finished, so I watermarked it (not that many people looking to steal art come to my blog, but ya never know!).

Really good Tom! I like the boy on top a lot! His pose and expression are great! The only thing I would suggest (sorry if I'm being a pain) is to shorten his neck a bit. You can try it in photoshop if you like. Crop the head and paste it a bit lower, play with it until you have a hight that looks right to you. You'll see a difference. It is really a great sketch, you should take it to color.

The bottom one is very soft and stylized, very good Tom!

Thanks, Carli.

Alicia: Yes, long necks seem to be the bane of my drawing right now. :P

Hey, Modigliani's necks were long, eh? Tee hee, but seriously...

I would like to bestow upon you the Pico Award, because I admire you putting yourself out there and I also appreciate all your wonderful comments. You can come to my blog for details.

Oh, and like both drawings, the bottom one is totally textbook-worthy. Keep up the good work!
