Day 10 of 21
Stepped away from people for a bit and decided to see how well I would do just starting out with basic shapes for a head, and let the character evolve based on what I saw as a drew it. Above are the results. The dog I named "Howard," mostly because he looks like one. The dragon has no name... maybe "Buddy," now that I think about it. He looks kinda friendly!

On another note, the wonderfully talented Linda Sylvestri of Sketched Out fame has graciously awarded me the Pico Award. I am honored to be so highly thought of at such a young (blogger) age. Thanks, Linda!
Now I have to pick 5 bloggers to pass the award along to. This may take a while to narrow down. There are so many great blogs and artist out there, I don't yet know where I would begin!

busy dog!, is late to work?
How cute Tom! He, he love the doggie and the company where he works too ;o)
I specially LOVE the dragon! You really have to stick with this one Tom, take it to color. Is great, the perspective, dimension, characters all great! I love him, he looks very sweet.
Why don't you name him Angus? If you don't like that one you can always name him Tom.. ;o)
Great work!!The dragon is my favorite!!
What about colors?
(^v^)
Well, as you know I am partial to all animals (real and imaginary), so I really like your sketches today! :-) Dragons are not easy to capture, but you did a great job, and he does look rather friendly. It would be great to see it in color, do you have a favorite medium?
Paola: Actually, Howard is quite punctual! :)
Alicia: Yes, I will color him soon. I have been wanting to do some color stuff, but time has not been my friend.
Thanks, Zime!
Monica: Don't really have a favorite... well, I do... I really like watercolor paintings, but for me, I am still experimenting, so I haven't found a medium that I am partial to in my own work.
These are great! I like the 'props' of the dragon's walking stick and the dog's bag!
Thanks, Jess. I wanted them both doing something, but I was drawing (no pun intended) a blank on what the dragon could be doing, so I gave him a stick to hold. Pretty original, I know! :P
oh cute! Its great to see you draw animals. They are wonderful. I love the dog with the tie.
Thanks, Jannie!
I like that concept you came up with. . . .letting the characters evolve from drawing their heads. Great job! I like the dragon as well!
an excellent try with animals! keep them going, I like your results!
