IF: Save
Here are my entries for this week's Illustration Friday theme of Save. I had a bunch of ideas, but these are the two I decided to draw. The one above was colored in Photoshop.
This one was my first idea. Not sure where it came from exactly, but I thought it funny. Please note that this is in no way a protest of Chick-fil-A, a restaurant I frequent often. Enjoy!

These are great! I especially love the chicken one. Funny, I just got done drawing something a bit similar at lunch to post tonight. We must be on the same wave-length, hee heee.
Your chickens seem very passionate about their cause. I also love the perspective on this. Cute, funny, wonderful!
Thanks, Linda. Look forward to seeing yours later!
Hi Tom, these two are fantastic! Both have great perspective. I love the color on the piggy bank one and the kid's face. I like how you drew the eyes, a bit different this time and really suits this. The piggy's expression is juts too cute, specially the mouth.. very cute :o)
The chicken one is hilarious! Again wonderful perspective. You should go to color on this one.
You've been busy I can see ;o) Great stuff Tom!
Hi Tom - Thanks for your comment. I like both of your ideas...the perspective on the piggy is great!
Thanks, Alicia. I am very happy with these. I am continually experimenting with faces to find my own "style." I do plan on coloring the chicken one (as well as the others) once I get a light table. I have plans to build a small one, just have to find the time to do it!
Who knows, maybe I'll send the chicken sketch to Chick-fil-A and they'll use it in a new advertising campaign! ;)
Thanks for stopping by, Nina!
I like it! Very funny ... especially like those little chicks. :O)
That chicken one--hilarious! What a fun idea. I also like your piggy bank scene! :)
Thank you, Chrissy and doodlegirl. I laugh every time I look at it!
They are both great ideas! I enjoy chicken too, but am afraid if I had to start with a live chicken, and kill and dress it, I'd probably skip the whole thing and eat an apple. Love the "Chicks for Change" sign the little guys are holding.
Thanks for the comment on my "save". You may certainly link!
Thanks, Elise. Yea, I like my food dead before I cook or eat it, too!
These are great, Tom, I really like my chicken with an attitude!
Thanks, Isabelle. It is served with waffle fries and a coke!
these are great ideas...wonderful work...
Great couple of illustrations. Like the way the piggy back one all works together so well and some nice story telling with your chickens. Thanks for your comment, I did have a scene in mind to follow my 'heavy' illo but ran out of time, I will get round to it!
