Day 1 of 21

Here is my first drawing for the 21 Day drawing exercise started by Gina Perry.

This is drawn from a photo I took of our neighbors horse Society. I sketched it completely in Photoshop using some new brushes I found thru Linda Silvestri's blog. This took about an hour off and on. I was working late (note the post time), and needed something to do to kill time between uploading files!

Good night (or more like good morning)!

Hi Tom - good start to the 21 day exercise. I can't believe you sketched this in photoshop too. I'm with Alicia on this one, I can't sketch in photoshop at all! Horses are probably on the list of things I should force myself to draw during this exercise. I look forward to checking back to see what's next!!!

Thanks Alicia and Gina. This was a good exercise, as it forced me to "layer" the color on to get the textures and shadows correct, something I hope to carry over to other mediums!

Wow! I agree with the girls! This is great and I'd never have imagined it was made in Photoshop.
Society is a beautiful model, I love horses :)

Hi Tom! Thanks for stopping by my page. You sketched this in Photoshop? I have been an avid photoshop user before there were layers, and know it inside and out, but I never treat it like a drawing program. Sounds like a challenge to be up for!
Great job!
